David Brown

David Brown is an associate attorney with the firm and a proud native of Culpeper, Virginia. After spending much of his adult life in service to our Nation, David is honored to have returned to Culpeper to build his legal practice in the community that shaped him and where he and his family are proud to call home.
David recently retired from the U. S. Marine Corps after twenty-four years of service, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. A veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, he spent more than thirteen years as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate, representing service members and advising commanders on complex legal and ethical issues in the United States, at the Pentagon, and abroad in Europe, Africa, and the Indo-Pacific. Those experiences gave him a deep appreciation for accountability, fairness, diplomacy, and the real-world impact legal decisions have on people’s lives.
David earned his undergraduate degree from the Virginia Military Institute. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law (now the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University). He is an active member of the Virginia State Bar and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bar.
Today, David brings the same commitment to preparation, integrity, and service to his civilian practice. He has a particular passion for helping military veterans, first responders, other public servants, and their families and he understands firsthand the unique challenges they often face. David is proud to continue a life of service by advocating for his clients throughout Culpeper and the central Piedmont region.
